Course OverviewThe law requires that all operators of machinery or workplace transport receive adequate training. The Approved Codes of Practice specify what that training must consist of and this course covers all aspects of the training requirements from the legislation. Our training courses are split into three basic categories: - A one day refresher course for experienced and pre certificated operators
- 2/3 day courses for operators with some experience, but who have no current certificate
- 3-5 day courses for novice operators
All courses are carried out to RTITB standards. The RTITB is an independent and impartial training accreditation body working extensively in the Lift Truck and LGV Industry.
What you will learn At the end of this Fork Lift Truck (Reach and Counterbalance) training course, delegates will be able to: - Demonstrate practical operating skills with the Fork Lift truck
- Conduct a pre-shift inspection of a truck prior to use
- State the safety aspects of FLT operation
- Explain counterbalance theory and the safe handling of loads.
Course Content The course covers the following topics:- - Safety in relation to FLT’s
- Counterbalance Theory
- FLT inspection techniques
- FLT refuelling / charging
- Safe transportation with and without loads
- Stacking and de-stacking of loads
- Loading and unloading of vehicles

Fork Lift Truck Certificate of Basic Operator Training Successful completion of the course requires each candidate to pass a three part test consisting of: - Knowledge of the safety aspects of FLT operation
- Aspects involved in FLT inspection
- A practical skills test
The Fork Lift Truck Training Course is limited to a maximum of 3 delegates. Course costs cover the training session, a comprehensive set of course notes and an attendance certificate.
