Course Overview

Many managers or supervisors have health and safety obligations placed upon them and yet have little idea of what they entail. This one day course provides a closer look at their responsibilities and provides the basic knowledge for them to be able to effectively manage these obligations.

The course looks beyond the rules and regulations at the moral aspects of safety management and the culture that evolves from sound safety management principles.

At the end of this course delegates will be able to:

• State their legal and moral obligations to manage safety
• State the principles of safety management using accepted models
• Understand accident causation and conduct a simple investigation
• Understand the human factors involved in safety management
• State what is competence and link safety with training and personal development
• Conduct a contractor review meeting

The Safety for Managers course covers the following topics:-

• Successful Health and Safety management principles (HSG65)
• Accident Causation
• Accident Investigation
• Criminal and Civil law
• Competence
• Training
• Human Factors

Delegates will be required to complete a course assessment test on completion of the syllabus.

The Safety for Managers Training Course is limited to a maximum of 10 delegates. Course costs cover the training session, a comprehensive set of course notes, lunch, refreshments and an attendance certificate.
