Course Overview What is an appointed person? An appointed person for first aid satisfies the minimum requirements that are laid down by the Health & Safety Executive.
An appointed person is someone who:-
- Takes charge when someone is ill or injured
- Looks after the first aid equipment
This one day training course gives an appointed person the basic skills required to act in an emergency, and assist a first aider. It satisfies the guidance laid down by the Health and Safety Executive. What you will learn At the end of the Appointed Persons -First Aid training course the delegate should be able to:- - Demonstrate how to assess a situation and a casualty
- List the causes of unconsciousness
- Demonstrate the management of an unconscious person
- Demonstrate basic life support (CPR)
- Demonstrate how to clear an airway in a choking person
- Demonstrate how to control severe bleeding
- Fracture and dislocations
- Burns and scalds (including electric shock)
- Diabetes/epilepsy
Course Appointed Person (First Aid) One day course The Appointed Persons First Aid Training Course is limited to a maximum of 12 delegates. Course costs cover the training session, a comprehensive set of course notes, lunch and refreshments and an attendance certificate. This is a non-residential training course. This course can be delivered in-house if required but there must be a minimum of 10 delegates.
